ICON Architectural Group
As a Senior Project Manager at ICON Architectural Group I have the privilege of transforming ideas into impactful spaces. I am based out of our Mandan office and lead project coordination from concept to completion, preparing strategic plans, assisting execution, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants. Unofficially—and perhaps most importantly, I do whatever it takes to ensure every project is delivered with quality, integrity, and intention.
My path to architecture wasn’t linear. I began my college journey with aspirations in law and politics, only to realize early on that it wasn’t where my passion lay. I’ve always had a deep appreciation for art—something instilled in me by an influential high school art teacher—and I’ve always enjoyed the logic and challenge of mathematics and problem solving. Architecture became the perfect intersection of both. From the moment I entered the program at North Dakota State University, it just clicked. The professors and peers I encountered there continually challenged and inspired me, and I’ve never looked back.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside exceptional mentors in both architecture and construction. They not only helped me understand how buildings come together, but also how to push boundaries to find creative, functional, and client-centered solutions. Architecture, to me, is more than design—it’s about the people who experience the spaces we create. It’s about listening to their needs, responding with intention, and delivering spaces that help them thrive.
What inspires me most isn’t a single person, but rather The Process. It’s the challenges clients bring, the collaboration with my team at ICON, the expertise of our consultants, and the craftsmanship of those who work with the design team to bring our visions to life. The process is complex, sometimes frustrating, often exhilarating—but always rewarding. With each project comes a new problem to solve, a new material to explore, or a new way to see the world.
I draw inspiration from many architectural works, but a few stand out: La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona—a masterpiece of symbolism and light that left a lasting impression on me—and the boundary-pushing forms of Zaha Hadid, whose work continues to amaze and inspire me. Closer to home, I take immense pride in Mandan High School. It’s a personal and professional milestone that reflects thoughtful design, functional efficiency, a sensitivity to site design, and the impact of materiality in light.
Outside of architecture I enjoy golfing, softball, hiking and skiing. Generally, if I am outdoors with family and friends, it is where I find myself the happiest. There is something calming about being surrounded by nature. There is a sense of relaxation and renewal by spending time with others outside that cannot be done in front of a television screen or computer monitor.
Architecture and design continue to be my passion not only for the creative challenge it offers, but for its power to shape how people live, work, learn, and connect. I am excited for the projects that lie ahead and grateful for every step of the journey so far.
