In the Spotlight

Tracy Jordre is a Principal Architect, Commercial Studio Leader and Workplace Design expert at JLG Architects. With nearly three decades of experience, Tracy helps drive business development while also shaping overall vision and project direction for a wide range of commercial and office projects and has been a part of the JLG team since 2012.
Through the integration of progressive, human-centric architecture, Tracy contributes an unparalleled passion for exciting and inspirational environments that are also healthy workplaces for all. She is a professional and personal advocate for mental health in the workplace, determined to make an enduring impact with inspiring environments that help occupants thrive, collaborate, grow, learn, and prosper together. She believes workplaces can be designed to support a spectrum of mental health and sensory-sensitive needs while fostering holistic well-being, team collaboration, and individual productivity. She is committed to creating a workplace of the future that is a destination of choice, not of obligation – where all can feel valued and truly thrive. Using these principals, she recently led the design of JLG’s new Fargo office that is currently under construction on the 7th floor of the RDO Tower in downtown Fargo. The integration of thoughtful details, sustainable material selections and an inspirational color and texture palette, further enhanced the overall wellbeing goals that are instrumental in the pursuit of the WELL Building program and Living Building Challenge certifications.
Tracy’s commercial work demonstrates innovative design solutions that weave together workplace efficiencies, biophilic elements, sustainable design, storytelling, and the unexpected comforts of home. She leans into experiential architecture as a key design fundamental to communicate the benefit of a holistic approach and an exceptionally designed workplace that evolves and responds over time – helping clients maximize their ability to recruit and retain top talent year after year. Over the years, she has been involved with and/or led projects from coast to coast, focusing primarily in the Dakotas, Minnesota and Colorado.
Tracy’s projects have earned several industry awards, including the ND AIA Merit Award for the First International Bank & Trust building in Rugby, ND, the ND AIA Juror’s Choice Award for the DeMers Avenue Office in Grand Forks, ND, and the ND AIA Top Honor Award for the Mill City Studio in Minneapolis, MN. In addition in 2024, Jordre was recognized as a Top 25 Women in Business by Prairie Business Magazine.
Tracy earned a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design with a Minor in Art from North Dakota State University in 1996. She is a Licensed Architect in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and multiple other states around the country. Tracy currently serves on the ND AIA Executive Committee, City of Fargo Planning Commission, is the outgoing Chair of the City of Fargo’s Arts and Culture Commission, Foundation Board member for the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch and serves on the United Way of Cass-Clay’s Community Impact Committee. Just recently, Tracy spoke at the FMWF Chamber’s Executive Women’s Speak Easy event, sharing her family’s journey through the challenges of parenting a child with mental health struggles, the profound impact it had on her, and how it has shaped her passionate advocacy for workplace well-being.
Tracy is married to Kevin, and has two kids (Cole and Annika), two dogs (Willow, a teacup Yorkie and Aspen, a champagne lab) and a goldfish (Fin, also known as “A-money, Jr.”). Cole just completed his freshman year at UND in Aerospace Engineering and Annika just completed her 8th Grade year at Oak Grove.
In her downtime, Tracy enjoys spending time with family and friends at their lake cabin near Itasca State Park, keeping up with the kid’s activities and trying to minimize the trouble her two beloved dogs get into on a daily basis!
